Wilwood Disc Brakes Introduces New Tru-Bar 60 Degree Remote Pedal Master Cylinder Mount

Wilwood Disc Brakes Introduces New Tru-Bar 60 Degree Remote Pedal Master Cylinder Mount

Wilwood’s Tru-Bar 60 Degree Master Cylinder Mount for remote brake pedal applications utilizes a fixed trunnion bearing within the pivot lever and pushrod spherical bearing ends. This provides smooth operation and precise adjustment of the brake bias with zero chance of balance migration, eliminating all side play.   A larger diameter, higher strength 4340 steel 7/16-20 balance bar adds rigidity and increases bias influence. A step-down shoulder on each end allows use of the direct mount adjusting knob or a standard 3/8-24 coupler remote adjuster cable. The new model is interchangeable with the previous slider bearing model, with upgrade kits available for older units. It’s race proven to deliver championship caliber performance in all racing conditions.       MSRP starts at $275.30   P/N 340-14380 Tru-Bar 60 Degree Master Cylinder Mount shown here with optional remote feed master cylinders Visit:...

New Idea, New Price: Steering news for short-track racers

New Idea, New Price: Steering news for short-track racers

By Archie Bosman: Did you know most hydraulic racing and high-performance power steering pumps are rebuilt street car pumps and that electric steering is regarded as the single worst attribute of the modern road-going car? Lack of consistent feel and listlessness on-center are its common criticisms. When Porsche was asked why they use such an abomination, their sources reported that its advantage is fuel saving—a free tank of fuel every 40,000 miles. Maybe so, but would anyone care? Thankfully, KRC the Kennesaw, Georgia, power steering specialist, didn’t pretend to be treading virgin territory in  earlier times, but now they probably stand alone. Le Mans 24-hour endurance race winners and NASCAR teams are among their highest profile proponents. What is new, though, is their Elite series power steering pump. Based on their Pro Series III, the Elite shares many of its best properties, including 9 flow adjustments that allow drivers to adapt steering feel to their preference. Also, the Elite features sealed bearings—an upgrade from the standard bushings found in competing power steering pumps. But most important is its price: PN# ESP 10096000 Elite Series Pump $299.98 PN# ESP 10096100 Elite Series Pump with bolt-on aluminum tank $399.98 Considering a Pro Series III or the new Elite Series? Click here for a list of the features of each. This intake manifold also includes provisions for all emissions equipment and retains the stock fuel rail. Moreover, the Victor II features cast bosses on the runners to accommodate a direct-port nitrous system for competition applications. Plus, its low-profile design accommodates all factory 2011-16 Ford Mustang hoods and strut tower braces. Lightweight steering column for racing chassis & hot rods

At this year’s SEMA show held in Las Vegas, November 1-4, ididit, the Tecumseh, Michigan-based steering column specialist, won the Best New Street Rod/Custom Car Product award with their new ‘40 Ford special edition column, which also suits the Model A and the ‘32s. Beyond this, Marty Waterstraut, ididit’s national sales manager introduced their new production racing column called the Pro Lite series.  Designed for the Sportsman racer—drag racer, auto-crosser—the entire column weighs a tad over 5 pounds. “Some drag racing classes mandate street-legal specifications and, therefore this column is equipped with turn signals,” says Marty. It also accommodates quick-release steering wheel hubs, making it ideal for driving the car to and from the track. In word and deed this column is all about weight. The Pro Lite series, which makes a great first impression, is now available for the Camaro, Gen 1 and later, the Nova as well as several Mustang models. Current development plans include numerous other examples. Source Ididit Tecumseh, MI 49286 (517) 424-0577...
