If you ask LS engine specialist Gary Grimes about serpentine pulley systems, he might shock you. He’ll tell you that some pulley systems masquerading as billet are no more than aluminum castings machined to give the appearance of billet. And he’ll prove his case by revealing broken pulleys shattered by the additional demands of forced-induction engines. So he selects Concept One.
Here below are the details of their latest pulley system for LS engines fitted with the W175FF 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger.

Cumming GA: LS-powered Muscle cars using the Whipple W175FF 2.9-liter blower now have access to the first high-traction eight-rib serpentine pulley kit.
Driving a blower that creates up to 10lbs of boost requires adequate belt grip and by increasing the ribbed surface area by 33 percent—substituting eight ribs for the traditional six—Concept One’s latest single-belt system achieves this without belt stretch or slippage.
Created and fully CNC-machined from pure aircraft-quality 6061-T6 billet aluminum, this kit, in common with its predecessors for Magnuson, GM LSA, and Edelbrock superchargers, is engineered for easy installation and perfect fit with pulley ratios calculated for optimum drivability.
To ease the installation prospects of the fully dressed LS power unit, Concept One relocated the A/C compressor from its original position on the lower right to the upper right. In doing so, LS transplants now possess adequate clearance around most chassis cross-members and other chassis components.
This kit provides a compact, polished Sanden® SD-7 compressor as well as a new Delphi® aluminum power steering pump. As standard equipment the pump is supplied with Concept One’s exclusive billet mini reservoir or remote reservoir. Also included are a cast aluminum water pump and a 105-amp polished Powermaster® one-wire alternator.
Other key components include a heavy-duty tensioner and Goodyear Gatorback® belt together with an SFI-approved harmonic balancer. To complete the kit all necessary 8-rib pulleys and mounting brackets are provided. These accommodate the alternator, A/C compressor, power steering and the supercharger idler.

Do you have a complete pulley kit for Chevrolet L77 running 2.9 Whipple at 13lb boost using the 3.0 boost pulley?

We have a new SC kit with a dedicated 10-rib belt to drive the supercharger and an 8-rib belt to drive the accessories. This kit is made to run higher boost than the one discussed in this article. Thirteen pounds per square inch of boost is not a problem. We have a larger diameter crank pulley on this kit to achieve 13psi boost on a 6.0L, using a 3.75in or 4.0in SC pulley. This kit is built around the Corvette offset 2.9 WK-1810 and can be used with the Camaro offset though requires modifications.

For 13psi of boost, I recommend our Max 10R. The 8-rib is designed for a maximum of 10PSI.
The Max 10R with no power steering costs $3500.00, including either black anodised or polished finish. We would add another idler to provide better wrap for the alternator and crank pulleys. The only thing that could raise the price is if a higher amp alternator is required. They are listed on C1 Pulleys website.

Also, we would need to know which offset applies: the Corvette offset WK-1810 or the WK-1000 Camaro offset. As you probably know, it is made for the Corvette offset although it can be made to work with the Camaro style but it takes some modification.
