The Importance of Compression Ratios and How to Measure Them:
Since race pistons in domestic V-8 engines move up and down in excess of 100 times per second, replacing them is a normal part of a racer’s routine. NHRA Top Fuel and Funny car teams replace them after every race pass and every second qualifying pass. Pro Stock teams
replace them after every 40 passes approximately, and weekend warriors replace them every 12 to 18 months, sooner if their engines are nitrous-assisted. Read the complete story as it appeared in Maximum Drive magazine’s 2015 Sept/Oct issue.

Hello. My Name is Jason Schagt. I was wondering how big of bore pistons can you make? I’m gonna be building a big Caterpillar motor for a semi and was wondering if that would be something you could make.
Sincerely

This depends on the size of the od.
Can you estimate the cost of duplicating or rebuilding a crank with new rod and piston w/rings for an older 2 stroke. Approximately 70mm bore x 64mm stroke, I can drop off whatever parts you need for measurements.
Jeff: Sorry, Gibtec specializes in piston manufacture only.
Would you sell a single piston?
I have owned a “true” ‘70 Chevelle SS since 1975.
I have had every nut and bolt of this car in my hands for a total rebuild over the past 49 years.
Recently, on a rebuild engine startup, one piston was ruined due to a builder error (mine) … now I need to replace one piston.
I originally installed a full set of Sealed Power L2240NF60.
Now I need one piston for a repair. WL2240NF60
Can you help me?

Bill,
Robbie Giebas of Gibtec Pistons, Denver, Co, whose company specializes in the production of billet pistons, apologizes for not being able to help. Apparently, single piston production is too expensive.
