IHRA Rockingham: John Montecalvo wins the battle; Pete Berner wins the war

Berner secures his 2nd IHRA Pro Stock Championship

The results of the final IHRA event of the season are now in the record books, and for RAM Clutches, it has been another monumental year.

By virtue of Jeff Dobbins’ second-round loss, Pete Berner secured his second IHRA Pro Stock World Championship.  Though Berner had the dominant car during the second half of the season, he was pursued relentlessly by Dobbins and Montecalvo all the way.

Montecalvo earned the Ironman trophy for his Rockingham event win with a 6.31-second pass over Elijah Morton.  Frank Gugliotta claimed the number one qualifying spot with a 6.27.

Nine of this year’s top ten points earners in IHRA Pro Stock racing used RAM Billet Clutches.  This marks the 11th of the past 13 years that a RAM customer has secured the IHRA Pro Stock championship!

In Pro Modified, Mike Castellana fell just short of his Championship goal, finishing second in this prestigious 2008 national championship event.

Congratulations to all of these RAM customers for their excellent performances in 2008!

Incidentally, all RAM clutch winners raced with Braswell carburetors.  Doug Schriefer, Braswell’s distinguished field engineer, attended all events to help with tuning advice.
