High aspirations for this weekend’s Rockingham Ram runners

Written by Moore Good Ink

Pete Berner

This weekend at Rockingham, NC, RAM customers in IHRA Pro Stock will shoot for the stars!  Pete Berner holds a slight 25-point edge over Jeff Dobbins and 101 points over John Montecalvo in the points standings. Berner is aiming to secure his second World Championship in the class.  He’ll have a tough battle as this IHRA Pro Stock class is the tightest competition ever.   Also at Rockingham this weekend, the final round of the $100,000 Torco Pro Stock Challenge will take place, which pits Berner against John Montecalvo for the $50,000 payday.

Mike Castallana

In Pro Modified, RAM customer Mike Castellana is trailing Kenny Lang by just 21 points and is looking to secure his second Pro Modified championship.  Castellana has been the class of the Pro Mod nitrous contingent lately, running as fast as 6.000 in IHRA legal trim.

Next weekend marks the ADRL ‘Battle for the belts’ in Dallas Texas.  In the Pro Nitrous division, points leader Billy Harper will attempt to secure the championship belt.  Harper has been a strong challenger this year, reaching the finals four times and claiming three wins.  He has run as fast as 3.92 and is closely followed by teammate Dennis Radford.
